Mike Leigh is an "acclaimed" director, even though ALL of his movies blow ass. He's famous for his style. He never writes a script. The dude literally just blows budget money by ad-libbing for apparently 18 weeks on his newest film.
At Cannes this year, "Another Year", a film about old people and their lives (boring, right?) almost won the Palm and it will snag an Oscar.
